| The Central Florida GIS Workshop, Inc. is a volunteer effort arising from the work of a number of dedicated GIS professionals in the Central Florida region who have acted as the Workshop Committee since the Workshop’s original inception in 2005 and is a nonprofit organization qualifying under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Its purpose is to provide educational opportunities, encourage data sharing, promote training opportunities and present information on current events to governmental, non-profit and private sector users of geographic information systems within Central Florida and throughout the State of Florida. The meeting dates and times are Thursday, January 28, 2010 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday July 28, 2010, 5:30 p.m. (The venue for this meeting is 200 W County Home Rd, Sanford) Wednesday October 27, 2010, 5:30 p.m. Venue: North Branch Library, 150 N. Palmetto Avenue, Sanford. Board Members Albert Hill, President Mira Bourova, Secretary Nancy Riley Church, Treasurer Kathy O’ Sullivan, Member Lakshmi Sankaran, Member Mission Statement The CFGIS Workshop, Inc. will facilitate and promote cooperation, communication, education and data sharing and will improve the status and level of effectiveness of Geographic Information System use in Central Florida. Vision Through the conduct of an annual Workshop and presenting other training opportunities to GIS professionals, governmental decision makers and other potential beneficiaries, the organization will encourage and facilitate the advancement of regional GIS education and provide a forum for cooperation and the exchange of ideas, resources, technology, and data.
