Subject: USDOT TIGER V Discretionary Grant-Regional Coordination
Good afternoon,

The USDOT has released the Notice of Funding Availability for FY 2013 TIGER Discretionary Grants (TIGER V).  This fifth round of TIGER grants is funder at $474 million (a 5% reduction). This cycle has a short timeframe due to the delay on the USDOT Appropriations legislation.  Final application must be submitted by June 3, 2013.  A pre-application is not required.

It is for these reasons that we would like to once again coordinate regionally for this discretionary grant opportunity.  Partnership within our regional is critical to successfully garner these funds for our collective priorities here in Central Florida.  Working together, we can better strategize which projects to pursue, and which agencies would be ideal to pursue each of the grant opportunities.  In previous years our region was quite successful with the discretionary grants due to our collective efforts.

We would like to encourage all of our partners to work closely with your MPO/TPO in the identification and selection of the projects we as a region want to pursue.  Plese let us, and your MPO/TPO know which projects you recommend be submitted for consideration.

We will schedule a meeting between our partner next week (via teleconference and we meeting).  Together we can once again help each other to ensure the success of our efforts.

The two links below will provide you with the USDOT Web page for TIGER grants and the Notice of Funding Availability:

Best regards,
