To share your GIS files at the CFGIS clearinghouse your GIS data to be used by other users, it must be accompanied by metadata (information that describes the GIS data). We have kept the metadata requirements to the bare minimum, to reduce the workload on participating agencies while still ensuring that end-users can use the GIS data they download.

FDOT District 5, primary funding organization of CFGIS called for an action plan to merge the CFGIS with the East Central Florida RPC Regional Mapping Program. As a result of the merging process CFGIS was restructured including more tools, products and direct benefits for the GIS users of Central Florida Region. The Action plan study and the recommendations that guided the reformatting of the CFGIS program can be found here.
